I Live In The United States

I Live In The United States

I live in the U.S.

Where we shield our kids, not from sexual assault or mass shootings, but from things deemed “evil” or “sinful” determined by a book written over 3,500 years ago and edited more times than most even realize.

I live in the U.S.

Where that same book teaches men that they are better in every way than women. Which results in women being denied;  jobs, justice, medical care and dignity. They are treated as subhuman and every means to an end is working towards ending their rights and a lot of times: their lives.

I live in the U.S.

Where women were targeted, tortured, and burned for practicing (or in most cases: not practicing) a belief system proven by science because the believe in the 3,500 year old book.

I live in the U.S.

Where people who love differently than I do are tied to a changed part of the 3500 year old book and whose rights rest solely in the hands of a few people who believe in the book.

I live in the U.S.

Where a dental filling not covered by insurance because the emergency dentist office is having technical difficulties can cost over $120.00 and the follow up deep cleaning to prevent further damage costs over $1,000 2x a year.

I live in the U.S.

Where a single illness or injury can bankrupt you.

I live in the U.S.

Where a life-saving ride by uber or Lyft takes more time but costs less than a vehicle created specifically for emergencies and saving lives.

I live in the U.S.

Where a life-saving medical procedure is denied if a clump of cells growing inside of the body is detected. A medical procedure that only happens in one part of our population is denied by a part of the population that can never and will never experience the procedure or medical problem it results from.

I live in the U.S.

Where we pay money monthly to have medical coverage and then when we need to use it, we have to pay even more money before they even start to help. And after their payment, we still owe 20%

I live in the U.S.

Where our healthcare is extremely expensive and hospitals charge a hundred dollars for a simple meal or medicine that costs pennies to a few dollars.

I live in the U.S.

Where every step I take, the air I breathe, and the house I live in, is drenched in guilt due to the people who look like me, stealing people from one land and forcing them to come to a new land stolen by force from other people. A land that was built on the backs of the slaves and yet we teach our children that the white colonizers were the good guys.

I live in the U.S.

Where white history is shown in color but black history is shown in black and white to brainwash you into thinking those events happened longer ago than they did.

I live in the U.S.

Where in 2026, Black people are still fighting for their rights as human beings due to a system of oppression that is still very much in operation.

I live in the U.S.

Where people whose roots go back a few hundred years believe they are more entitled to the land over people whose roots go back hundreds and even thousands of years.

I live in the U.S.

Where people travel hundreds of miles to immigrate to in search of the American Dream.  Where they work harder than ever to be able to give their family hope and peace just to be treated like scum.

I live in the U.S.

Where we are forced to pledge our allegiance every school day from ages 5–18 unless you’re excused because of your parents believe in a religion even more controlling than the religion from which it came.

I live in the U.S.

Where excitement for life is eroded by age 19 when the reality of having to wake up every day to go to work sets in. Where most of the population works hard, long hours just to scrape by.

I live in the U.S.

Where self-worth equals your wealth. Even if you have to earn it by stepping on others. Even if all you’ve done in your life was be born to the person who created the wealth.

I live in the U.S.

Where our children practice “active-shooter-drills” so that they know how to stay safe when a person (often times a right-leaning-white-man) enters their school with a gun.

I live in the U.S.

Where everything we’ve known and loved about our country, easily crumbled under the hands of only a few deranged individuals.

I live in the U.S.

Where we rank highest in the worst aspects of life despite being considered the richest and "freest" country on earth

I live in the U.S.

Where the wants of a few are favored over the needs of the many.

I live in the U.S.

Where the propaganda is so far spread that we accept things as they are and assume that nothing will ever change things.
